Welcome to Dark Tales: Darkness Has Depth

It’s an interactive discussion about what actually makes dark storytelling unsettling: atmosphere, implication, psychology, the uncanny, and the way something familiar can become disturbing with only a slight shift in perspective.

We'll start by selecting a piece of artwork from the gallery walls. What happened just before the scene we’re seeing? What isn’t visible? What secret is the piece holding? What would make it frightening? Write or simply think through your interpretation, and anyone who wants may share theirs with the group afterward. Participation is completely optional, very conducive to a relaxed and conversational environment rather than a formal workshop.

Start time is 7pm at the gallery.
Free admission, though gallery donations are graciously accepted! BYOB for guests 21+. Outside food & drink permitted. Free parking on the street or in the large lot behind building.

Green Beacon Gallery is a newly-minted 501c3 non-profit operating in downtown Greensburg, your door donations go towards keeping open access to art & music in the region. All artwork inside the gallery will be available to browse and buy during the event, features over 500 pieces from 200+ local/regional artists!
